Welcome
Our vision is to meet identified local need by working together with Parents, community groups, providers and agencies to support and develop high quality childcare provision in South West Glasgow.
The forum formerly known as Greater Govan Childcare Forum, was re-established in September 2004 as the South West Childcare Forum and the boundary was extended to cover the entire South West Social Work Services area.
Aims
The remit of the forum is to work in partnership with all members to:
- Increase the range of affordable, flexible, quality childcare provision in the local area and in the city
- To support the sustainability of the above provision
- To promote the participation of local people
- To promote joint working and networking opportunities
Objectives
- To gather, use and publicise accessible information on the supply and demand for childcare in the area.
- To continue to develop the local partnership forum membership to enable wide and meaningful inputs.
- To establish and implement an ongoing promotional campaign, publicising the work of the forum to all stakeholders
- To provide a range of support services to develop and sustain a relevant local childcare provision
- To provide support to training and other activities to ensure high quality childcare provision.
